Keep an eye out for emails from ‘Your Role on Twitter’

  • Twitter employees will receive an email entitled “Your Role at Twitter” on Friday, 9 a.m. PST.
  • Musk memo: If their employment is not affected, they will receive a note via their Twitter email.
  • If their employment is at risk, they will be sent an email with the next steps and a note explaining what to do.

Twitter employees will find out Friday morning at 9 am pacific time if their jobs have been affected by Elon Musk’s layoffs.

An internal MemoThe terms of employment were sent to employees on Thursday. They will be sent to their personal or professional email addresses. Kali Hays, Insider reported.Notifications will be sent to those whose employment is at risk. Musk’s memo also states that employees whose employment is not affected, will be notified through their work emails.

There are approximately 3,700 Twitter employees Musk’s planned layoffs will likely be a success..

According to the memo, all company offices will be temporarily closed. All badge access will also be suspended.

“If in an office, or on your route to an office,” the memo read. 

Some employees were able to log out of Slack and email shortly after 8 PM PT on Thursday night. Insider reported.

Some employees have begun to update their professional channels regarding the effects of the layoffs. Many expressed frustration at not being informed of their impending departures. 

“I was logged off company Gmail, slack and other services in the evening with my coworkers. “No communication or notice whatsoever,” said one staffer, who claimed she worked almost two years for Twitter. Late Thursday, I posted a LinkedIn message.

Another employee LinkedIn – wrote: “Just got remotely log out of my company laptop, and removed from Twitter Slack. It was so sad that it had to end in this manner. According to their profile, the employee was a Twitter community manager for less than a year.

“I had the privilege of working alongside amazing Tweeps, who showed incredible resilience during this whole ordeal. Although this wasn’t what we expected, we made the best of it,” said another staff member, a manager of data programs who had been working at the company for eight-months. WriteLinkedIn

Employees who have been affected by the crisis are also receiving advice.

Lawyer Lisa BloomTweeted late Thursday: “CA’s WARN law requires Twitter give you 60-day notice of a major layoff.” He added, “I know that you didn’t get that notice.”
