Kanye West stirs controversy after blaming George Floyd for his death due to fentanyl

Kanye West falsely claimed that Floyd died from the synthetic opioid during a appearance on Drink ChampsThat aired Sunday.

West spoke out about Candace Owens’s new documentary. The Greatest Lie Ever Solved: George Floyd & the Rise of BLMHe stated, “The day that he died, he said eight minutes of prayer…” They hit him with fentanyl. You can see that the guy’s knee was not even on his neck.

Floyd was killed when Derek Chauvin, one the four police officers who had arrested him in Minneapolis on May 25, 2019, knelt down on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes, 29 seconds.

Chauvin was convicted of murder in June 2021 and sentenced to 21 years imprisonment.

West said that Floyd also “reminded him” of his friend Virgil Abloh who had died in November 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Following this, civil rights attorney Lee Merritt took to Twitter and informed that the Floyd family “is considering suit for West’s false statements about the manner of Floyd’s death.”

“Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl, not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight,” the attorney added.

Drake was also called “the greatest rapper” by the hip-hop superstar. He claimed that his first episode of Drink Champs aired in November and had more viewers than Kim Kardashian’s October 2021 appearance on Saturday Night Live.

He then attacked the “Jewish media” who he claims “blocked” him and said, “Tell me could you even rally run this interview? Mav (Maverick Carter) didn’t even run my interview, they blocked me out, and the Jewish media blocked me out. Is this the shit that is lit? I am lit right, I am lit.”

After making anti-Semitic remarks, he was removed from his social media accounts.

Additionally, he addressed JP Morgan Chase. He reportedly cut all connections after hearing about his antisemitic remarks made on social media.

“I put $140m into JP Morgan and they treated me like shit so if JP Morgan Chase is treating me like that how are they treating the rest of y’all, I am outraged, people want to calm it down, I didn’t break a law,” he said.

It comes after a turbulent few weeks. He wore a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at a Paris fashion week event. Later, he took part in an interview with Fox News.

West has faced a significant backlash with celebrities like Jaden Smith and Sean “Diddy”, as well as representatives from Supreme and Vogue critiquing his Paris Fashion Week stunt.
