Jurgen Klopp would be ‘a huge loss to the Premier League’ if Liverpool’s struggles forced him to leave, with only Real Madrid or Barcelona on his ‘trajectory’ as he’s told to ‘regenerate like Doctor Who’

Jurgen Klopp would be a ‘huge loss’ to the Premier League if he left Liverpool, and he needs to ‘regenerate like Doctor Who’.

That’s according to talkSPORT host Simon Jordan, who has backed the Reds boss despite The two may not always see eye to eye.

But Jordan has backed him to come through it

Jordan is there to support him.

Klopp once said he ‘wasn’t a fan’ of the outspoken former Crystal Palace owner, even though he ‘sometimes shares his opinion’.

Jordan responded with a laugh saying ‘I’m now a massive advocate of Manchester City’ but in truth, he doesn’t want the German to depart England even with his side currently struggling.

Liverpool could be as many as 14 points off the top of the league if they lose to Arsenal on Sunday – winning just two of their seven Premier League games – while a 4-1 Champions League humbling from Napoli further complicated matters.

Klopp signed a contract extension for two years in April at the club he led from outside Europe to Champions League and Premier League honors.

That hasn’t stopped the rumours though, but Jordan is confident he can find a way through the current struggles.

“Jurgen Klopp is an outstanding manager,” He said. “I don’t always concur with his views as apparently he doesn’t always concur with mine.

“Right now the team are in a transition phase, and people are attributing statuses of great influence to people like Jordan Henderson and when he’s not there the team’s not playing well and is diminished.

“People are winning the argument about what Trent Alexander-Arnold may be, [Mohamed] Salah isn’t at it, [Darwin] Nunez hasn’t hit his stride yet, Virgil van Dijk may be coming to the end of a cycle, all of these questions have to be answered by elite managers.

“One of the things [Alex]Ferguson’s main task over a long period of time was to keep rebuilding and refreshing the landscape. [Manchester] United had less challengers at that time, but this league with Manchester City and whoever else we want to throw in the mix will keep on throwing out evolution.”

He continued: “Klopp would be a loss to the Premier League. I do tire sometimes of his myopic one-dimensional views of how the world should be structured for the benefit of Liverpool, but I guess that’s his job.

“I think Liverpool will find their feet again and regain their poise, but right now they’re off balance but I don’t think that leads to a conversation about Klopp departing, it must lead to a conversation where Klopp revitalises, renergises and recalibrates Liverpool back to where they were two or three years ago.

“Right now, for whatever reason, they don’t seem to be there, and it may just be that he’s exhausted these players and what they’re capable of doing at the intensity he wants to play and he needs to change the balance.

“I don’t see what an alternative challenge would be, could he go to Real Madrid or Barcelona? I suppose you could say that’s a trajectory he would go on, but the Premier League is where they want to be because of the opportunities and the economics.

“I’d like to think that Klopp is like Doctor Who, he will regenerate.”
