Liverpool began to see the end of their era. City wins 1-0Bernardo Silva fouled Salah at Anfield.

After the incident, play was allowed to continue as the Egyptian and his teammates reacted furiously at the City star being left unpunished.

Referee Anthony Taylor deemed Liverpool boss Klopp’s reaction to be a step too far, though, sending him off.

The German man was clearly furious and made his feelings known to Silva. Silva was not punished.

“Jurgen Klopp is seething,” talkSPORT’s reporter for the game Matt Jones said.

“The incident all came from a clear as day foul on the left hand side, and play was allowed to go on. Antony Taylor has allowed a lot of play to go on it has to be said.”

Although they were without their manager for the final moments, Klopp’s men held on for the win, with Mohamed Salah scoring the decisive goal on 76 minutes.

After the match Klopp admitted that he may have flown off the handle a little too much, but suggested Taylor’s linesman wasn’t bothered about Silva’s challenge on Salah.

On his red card, Klopp said: “In the end, probably deserved, but you cannot have this situation.

“It is the clearest foul I ever saw in front of the linesman and he is not bothered. It’s clear. They only watch the game, but they are able to see it. [the managers] are involved.”

Liverpool will be without Klopp due to his red card. They face West Ham at Anfield Wednesday night.
