Jude Bellingham shared what he told Erling Haaland about the Borussia Dortmund match against Manchester City that ended in a 0-0 draw during the Champions League.
Both teams won the ResultDortmund was able to qualify for the knockout stages while City managed to secure top spot in Group G.
The Bundesliga giants will win, however, after Riyad Maharez missed a penalty. Haaland was also withdrawn at half-time as a precautionary measure.
Although the Norwegian international has been in a generational scoring form since his arrival from Dortmund, he had his worst season at City.
England star Bellingham, who scored in the World Cup, is the new main man at Dortmund. 2-1 defeatAt City earlier in the month.
Haaland was the winner of that match, and Bellingham was eager to remind his former teammates they had finished even on goals against the two ties.
Bellingham told BT Sport: “I said to him (Haaland) at the end of the game, ‘We’re 1-1 on goals’.
“But I’m not too satisfied because I didn’t score either but, of course, we got the draw, that’s what we needed to carry on this journey.”
Bellingham added: “It’s good for us on that side of the game, defensively we were really good.
“Not many teams keep clean sheets against Manchester City, especially this season with all the quality they’ve got.
“To do that is really promising for us, I think we could’ve gone for it a little bit more but we can be grateful they missed a penalty and Greg made a huge save.
“There’s different things to take from the game, we were here to qualify and we did that.”
