JONATHAN TURLEY Hunter Biden has provided ample evidence to support his criminal activities. There was a lack in pursuit and an apparent lack interest. These claims are not being pursued and it is unclear if this is being encouraged by the midterm elections. The Republicans are to be expectedto take control of the House. They announced that they would investigate the Hunter Biden incident. By reaching a plea deal, this could effectively close the door to prosecution. People are concerned about the extent of criminal conduct that will be indicted. It is difficult to know until we see the indictment how aggressive this investigation was. One of the violations of FARA that concerns foreign agent registration is my concern.

Paul Manafort is an example of the aggressive approach taken by the Justice Department to pursue foreign agents who were not properly registered. Hunter Biden seemsTo meet the Paul Manafort standards. If it isn’t included, it will raise many questions. By not including it you won’t have embarrassing questions about influence-peddling that could have generated millions of dollars for the Biden family.
