Jim Nantz to call the last NCAA Tournament in 2023. Ian Eagle will succeed him: Report

Longtime CBS sports broadcaster Jim Nantz will be calling his final men’s NCAA basketball tournament in 2023. The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand Was the first to reportThe story.

Ian Eagle will succeed Nantz as CBS and Turner Sports’ No. The New York Post lists the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 play-by–play broadcaster.

“It is time with two young children and an older daughter that I spend more time at home,” Nantz told the Post.

Since 1991, Nantz (63) has been the NCAA Tournament’s leading play-by-play broadcaster. Nantz will be calling his 32nd Final Four game and National Championship game on CBS in 2023. In addition to college basketball, Nantz is the lead broadcaster on CBS’ golf coverage, which includes The Masters and the PGA Championship. He’s on CBS’ No. He’s on CBS’ No. 1 broadcast team for NFLTogether with Tony Romo, color analyst, and Tracy Wolfson, sideline reporter.

Eagle, 53, is a broadcaster who has called NCAA Tournament games on CBS and TNT. He’s also provided play-by-play commentary for NBATNT games and Brooklyn Nets games on YES Network

The 2023 NCAA Tournament opens on March 14, and the National Championship game takes place in Houston on May 3.
