Jan. 6 Footage – Pelosi & Pence Plan to Certify Election

• Unaired footage CNN.Shows a Jan. 6 telephone call between Nancy Pelosi (left) and Mike Pence (right).
• Second and third in line for the presidency, the politicians discussed their safety as well as a plan to certify that the election was valid.
• Pelosi can be heard telling then-Vice President, “I worry about your being in the Capitol.” 

Nancy Pelosi is seen talking to Mike Pence about safety and a plan for certifying the election in previously unaired footage that was filmed on January 6, 2021. This occurred while the Capitol was under siege.

The third and fourth in line for succession to the presidency at that time were the politicians. The call was interrupted by the Capitol grounds being full. Violent ProtestersWho tried to disrupt the proceedings and install Donald Trump for a second term as president.

Pelosi informs Pence in the clip that “We are not safe enough to go back.” “They’re still trying to penetrate the building. It’s not safe. We’re trying find a way to do this job today.

Pelosi mentions Fort McNair as a potential “backup” plan for the House of Representatives and Senate to meet in order to complete the certification process. Pelosi is heard hearing Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader, tell Pelosi that it would take security forces several days to clean and clear the Capitol sufficiently for it to be usable. 

The footage does not capture Pence’s response, but Pelosi can clearly be heard saying that all the present politicians were “unified”, with “no-partisanship, none anything” and discussing the importance to complete the certification that day.

Pelosi said to Pence at end of clip, “I worry that you are in the Capitol.”

Insider asked for comment from representatives of Pence and Pelosi, but they didn’t immediately respond.
