The Spurs were enraged, and the coach and players railed that Antonio Conte was the winner.

Tottenham would have been guaranteed a place in the knockout stage if the goal had stood. However, Tottenham will need to score at least one point against Marseille next Tuesday.

“Spurs get absolutely robbed… ROBBED by VAR,” former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara said on the Sports Bar.

“I was running around the office five minutes ago. What am I really seeing? It’s not offside!

“The law has got it wrong. It’s wrong. It’s incorrect. The more I look at it, the more Harry Kane is offside.”

Tottenham lost by one goal Marcus Edwards scored against his former clubTo salvage a point, they had to fight back in second-half.

O’Hara continued: “I was disappointed in Spurs in the first-half. We played bang-average, as usual. We started slow, and went 1-0 down.

“Hugo Lloris has to be better from the goal.”

Co-host, and Chelsea fan, Jason Cundy added: “He’s diving down like he’s got T-Rex arms. He didn’t move his feet quick enough.”

O’Hara: “Second-half, Spurs came out and had a right go. We should have won the game, Eric Dier could have scored a hat-trick.”

Cundy: “You got what you deserved. Sporting could have been two up in the first-half but missed an open goal.

“Spurs really came away unconvincing. They were released from jail. You didn’t deserve to win that. Drawn is fair. How can you argue?”

O’Hara: “We were brilliant in the second-half.”

Kane looked dejected after his goal was ruled out, but Spurs still top the group

Kane looked sad after Kane’s goal was overruled, but Spurs are still the best team in the group.

Cundy: “Again Spurs were unconvincing in the first-half. You didn’t get away with it against Newcastle but you nearly did tonight.

“You are still top of the group and it’s in your hands. You really didn’t deserve to win the game.”

O’Hara: “Typical Chelsea fan. You don’t have to come on here every night trying to stick the knife into Tottenham.

“The second-half performance was one of the best we’ve had this season.

“It was a brilliant game.”

Spurs could not believe their goal was ruled out by VAR, but their protests made no difference

Spurs couldn’t believe VAR had ruled their goal out, but they protested nonetheless.

Cundy then went on to read out the laws themselves to try and point out how Kane was in fact offside, but O’Hara was still having none of it.

Cundy: “I thought the law was if you played the ball backwards you couldn’t be offside. But the law says here ‘when it comes to offside the direction of the pass is irrelevant, if the ball passes forward, laterally or backwards it can be offside’.

“What is important is the receiving player’s position when the ball was played.

“Kane was offside, you cannot deny that.”

O’Hara: “He’s onside! Royal is with him. He leads it across, if he is in line with the player then you’re onside.

“I’m telling you they got it wrong. VAR got it wrong!”
