Jackson, a Great Day Not to Be There’ in the midst of Water Crisis

  • More than 150,000 people in Jackson — Mississippi’s largest city and capital — went without clean running water for weeks.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves called Friday “a great day not to be in Jackson”, referring to the capital of Mississippi. For many weeks, water was not available to them..

According to local reports, Reeves made these remarks at a groundbreaking ceremony in Hattiesburg (roughly 90 miles southeast from Jackson).

Reeves announced that the water production has been significantly increased at a press conference. The Mississippi Free Press. “We have restored water pressure in the city. We have installed an emergency rental pump. We’ve repaired and reinstalled any damaged parts. Additionally, we have tested and monitored the water quality.
