After being overlooked by Erik Ten Hag, Ronaldo made it down the tunnel just before full-time.

Cameras spotted Ronaldo trudging down the tunnel late on as he once again made it all about him in what was United’s best performance of the season.

The Red Devils didn’t miss the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as Fred and Bruno Fernandes got on the score sheet in what could have been a cricket score at Old Trafford.

But Ronaldo’s antics has proven to be the talking point from the match, with talkSPORT’s Cundy and O’Hara labelling the Portugal international as a ‘disgrace’.

Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara said on The Sports Bar: “Ronaldo walks down the tunnel in the 89th minute – it’s a disgrace!

“The best performance for Man United of the season so far, and Ronaldo walks off down the tunnel.

“And the tunnel at Old Trafford is not right by the dugout, you’ve got to walk the length of the pitch, almost. How disrespectful is that to your teammates!”

Which ex-Chelsea defender Cundy remarked: “It’s all for show. That’s why I wouldn’t take Ronaldo [at Chelsea]. The baggage.

“He is a brilliant footballer and he will score goals but that’s the reason.

“[Erik] Ten Hag has still got a problem with him, and January can’t come quick enough for Ten Hag to move him on. He wants to move on, there’s petulance.

“And what does that do to other players? No doubt he’s a brilliant influence in the dressing room, but the petulance shown like that in public that’s not on, that’s not fair.

Ronaldo’s decision to go back to the changing area early has been criticized

“Imagine if you’re a young player looking up to Ronaldo and he does that?

“For Ronaldo to do that during the game, it’s slapping Ten Hag round the face. He’s questioning his authority. Publicly he’s given the manager a little *tsh* round the chops.”

O’Hara then simply stated: “It’s not good enough, especially on a night like tonight – it’s a big result for Manchester United.”

Ten Hag said after the match that he will address the situation on Thursday.

He told Amazon Prime: “I will deal with that tomorrow, not today.”

Before adding: “He was there I have seen him, but I didn’t speak with him.

“I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We celebrate this victory and now we have to recover for Chelsea on Saturday.”
