It’s official! We now know the identity of Sauron in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”

Rings of Power fans, it’s time. We are here, fans! FinallyKnow who Sauron really is.

In dramatic fashion, the Dark Lord revealed himself in Season 1’s finale. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerThis reveals that Middle-earth’s Big Bad was disguised as Halbrand (Charlie Vickers), throughout the entire time.

Whether you were blindsided by the reveal or had Halbrand pegged as Sauron from the start, we can all agree that Sauron’s resurgence — and his actions in the finale — will have a major impact on The Rings of Power Moving forward

How can we determine if Halbrand is Sauron

This conversation is a whole new level.

Halbrand has spent the whole season with Galadriel, Morfydd Clark’s allies. What happens in the finale that will make Halbrand see the light? (Or, rather, to see the darkness?

She brings him along to begin. EregionThere he meets other Elfs like Elrond (Robert Aramayo).Celebrimbor’s master smith (Charles Edwards). Celebrimbor’s last ditch smithing project is the subject of Halbrand’s immediate attention: using The elves have very little mithrilTo create a crown that will keep the light of the Elf alive and prevent them from going out of fashion. Celebrimbor is charmed by Halbrand, who compliments his legendary skills and then offers a solution. The power of mithril could be increased if it were mixed with other ores.

Galadriel observes Celebrimbor behaving strangely at a later meeting of the elves. Not only is he being rude to High King Gilgalad (Benjamin Walker), but he also describes the crown in a sinister manner. He claims that the crown would confer power on the bearer over flesh and the Unseen World. Are you familiar with this phrase? This is because they are exactly the words you’re looking for Adar (Joseph Mawle). This is how Sauron used the term to describe the power he sought after Morgoth fell.

Galadriel realises that Celebrimbor started talking in this manner only a few years ago After Halbrand is quick to connect the dots when she speaks with her. When a scroll taken from Eregion’s archives shows that there isn’t a King of the Southlands, her suspicions are confirmed. The line was cut thousands of years back, which means one thing: Halbrand is lying!

Except that he isn’t (apart form the whole “lying through omission” thing). As Halbrand points out when Galadriel confronts him, he never outright stated that that he was the king — only that he stole the king’s symbol from a dead man. Galadriel, Galadriel, and Galadriel were the ones who encouraged him to assume the title of king. Galadriel also dragged him to Middle-earth. Galadriel introduced him at Celebrimbor. She also advised him to get rid of any evils he might have committed before they met. This effectively made her her worst enemy.

It will be fascinating to see the impact Halbrand-Sauron’s character arc on Galadriel. This is a devastating blow for her. She has dedicated her entire life to killing Sauron. But in her unwavering quest to rid Middle-earth darkened, she did what she was most afraid of: She brought Sauron home. How can she trust herself in the future? How will she be able to regain the trust of Elrond, who clearly sees that something is not right? Galadriel has a lot of options for anger, and I cannot wait to see her grow from this and attempt to correct her mistakes.

Galadriel, however shocked she may have been to learn that her closest ally is actually her worst enemy The Rings of Power This gives us many clues that Halbrand is Sauron. First, his first words were literally “looks can deceive,” which is the main strategy of manipulation used by shapeshifting Sauron. He is also a strong and formidable character. Violent fighter, as seen in his brawl on Númenor; he loves smithing; and he has beef with Adar, who claimed he killed Sauron. Actually, the only thing holding back the Halbrand–Sauron theory from being true is that Halbrand has a new character. The journey of Sauron in J.R.R. Tolkien books are quite different.

How does it work? The Rings of PowerWhat makes Sauron different than J.R.R. Tolkien’s work?

You’re a villain!

Tolkien’s legendarium does not include Halbrand. However, Sauron is certain to have it. In The SilmarillionHe takes control of Mordor, then works to get Middle-earth on his side. It’s easy for humans to fool, but it’s difficult for elves. Sauron disguises himself as Annatar, Lord of Gifts, to win over the elves. Celebrimbor, the other smiths, gains an even greater mastery of their trades. But he leaves when they begin making the Rings of Power. The Three Rings of the Elf are last.

This is obviously a very different situation. The Rings of Power. There is no Annatar. The Three Rings are made first. However, they were originally intended to be crowns. Halbrand is only there for a few days. This is not surprising considering that the show operates on a very condensed timeline.

However, The Rings of Power In its final, it does give Annatar a short but significant nod. Halbrand tells Celebrimbor to “call it a present” when he gives him advice on how to use his mithril. It is clear that the line refers to Annatar’s title, “Lords of Gifts”, given Vickers’ emphasis on it.

An issue with rights could be the reason. The Rings of Power Could only make a reference to Annatar, not portray him. Amazon owns the rights The Lord of the RingsIncludes the appendices. The HobbitHowever, it doesn’t have the rights. The Silmarillion. Annatar does not appear in The Lord of the Rings The appendices and Payne, it is likely that J.D. Patrick McKay, Payne, and Patrick McKay needed to come up with creative ways to bring Sauron into the Eregion. The solution? Halbrand.

While Halbrand being Sauron may be a breach of Tolkien’s Canon, I am curious to see what he will do next. Will he try to seduce both the dwarves & the humans? He will he return to NúmenorWill he sow more conflict? Or will he choose to remain in Mordor and crush Adar’s rivalry with him? Sauron’s future looks bright, just like Galadriel. Based on that last shot of Sauron in black, smiling as he hikes towards Mount Doom, it’s clear: I’m thrilled to see him embrace his vice.
