iOS 16: Mirroring an Apple Watch to your iPhone

  • You can mirror your Apple Watch from your iPhone using the Accessibility section in the Settings app.
  • The Apple Watch is interactive and can be controlled using swipes and taps of the iPhone.
  • Apple Watch 6 or older must have iOS 16 and watchOS 9,

The Apple Watch has a relatively large display — in fact, the Apple Watch UltraThe case measures 49mm in size. Despite its size, some users might prefer a larger display. There’s also an accessibility option that allows you to mirror your Apple Watch on your iPhone. This interface is fully interactive and can be controlled on your iPhone screen. 

Mirroring your Apple Watch on an iPhone requires iOS 16 or higher. Your watch must also be running watchOS 9. This feature works only with Apple Watch Series 6+. You can check the version of iOS to verify. Update your iPhoneIf necessary, Update your Apple WatchYou can also watchOS 9

How to mirror the Apple Watch on your iPhone

1. Get started Settings App on your Pairing iPhone.

2. Tap Accessibility.

3. Scroll down, and tap Apple Watch MirroringTurn on, and then you will be able to turn off Apple Watch MirroringSwipe the button to the left.

Apple Watch Mirroring can be found in the Accessibility section within the Settings app.

After a few minutes, you should notice a blue outline appearing around your Apple Watch face. This is a sign that the screen is being shared. This means that the watch should be displayed in a pop up window on your iPhone.

You should now be able to see the interactive version of your iPhone watch after you have enabled mirroring.

Control the Apple Watch with your iPhone via tap and touch gestures

  • Scroll. Swipe the iPhone display up and down to scroll the screen. 
  • Watch faces and screens can be changed. Swipe your iPhone’s display left or right. 
  • The Digital Crown: Press the button. Tap the Digital Crown to simulate pressing the crown.
  • Click the side button. By tapping the side button on your iPhone, you can press the button.
  • Connect with Siri. Tap and hold the Digital Crown to activate Siri.
