Illinois police arrested 15 people for using PPP loans to bail out of jail

Police Illinois arrested15 people were released after using money from Paycheck Protection Program loans to bail out of jail.

FOX 32 reports that several Will County Jail inmates were discovered to have applied for and received PPP loans. These loans were used to bail them out of jail to help with their felony cases.

“The majority of them also use the same address as their home.” Kilgore explained that they did periodic spot checks of the house. It just looked like a home. There wasn’t an actual business there. We also checked with Joliet regarding any type business licenses for the address and anyone in the family. The results were also negative.
