Police Illinois arrested15 people were released after using money from Paycheck Protection Program loans to bail out of jail.
FOX 32 reports that several Will County Jail inmates were discovered to have applied for and received PPP loans. These loans were used to bail them out of jail to help with their felony cases.

Federal agencies and police found 25 people in prison and faced felony charges while applying for PPP loan that would go to false businesses. 15 were arrested and charged with wire fraud in Operation Triple P.

Joliet Police DepartmentDetective James Kilgore claimed that the police couldn’t locate business licenses matching addresses listed on the PPP loan.

“The majority of them also use the same address as their home.” Kilgore explained that they did periodic spot checks of the house. It just looked like a home. There wasn’t an actual business there. We also checked with Joliet regarding any type business licenses for the address and anyone in the family. The results were also negative.
