GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger claimed that Mike Pence, former Vice President, would be “the Ron DeSantis now” if “fully divorced himself” from Donald Trump. Kinzinger also stated that he would be direct with GOP votes regarding his role in January 6, 2021.

He said that House January 6 probe was a success because his people were cooperative and helpful. Mike Pence is a man I have mixed feelings about. He did the right thing that day. He did the legal thing.
He is the thing that I struggle with. Although I believe he is a good man inside, he didn’t speak for two years following January 6. He gave one speech, in which he said that he did not have the right to overthrow this election. It was great news. He continued, “But we were doing lots of stuff that he could answer to,” he said. He could have voluntarily spoken to us. He claimed that the president had put him in danger. Which is more important? Kinzinger stated that, while a Pence-Trump matchup would be fun to watch, he wanted to learn more about his role in January 6.
“Look, I would love it if Mike Pence ran against Donald Trump for president. It would be a lot of fun to watch. I want to know why he waits two years to discuss it. I get it. You were faithful to the vice president up to a point. “I’m not going blame him for things that he disagreed to Trump but didn’t necessarily speak about while he’s vice president,” he stated.

He would be the man who, over the past two years, was able make a convincing case to the Republican base that he trusts, even though they don’t like his, I believe he could be an alternative to Donald Trump.
