According to new footage, Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, was furious at Donald Trump’s plans to march to Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The footage was aired online CNN Thursday evening, was taken by documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, the Speaker’s daughter. Pelosi was shown watching Trump speak at the “Save America!” rally, which preceded the riot. He said that all of them would march to the Capitol to protest the election results.
Pelosi is informed by a staffer that Trump was told not to march to the Capitol by the secret service. He added, “So at the moment he’s not coming but that could change.”
Pelosi can clearly be heard saying, “If the he comes, I’m gonna punch him out,” “I’ve been waiting all this. I trespassed upon the Capitol grounds. I’m going out to punch him and I’m going in jail.
Trump didn’t march to the Capitol with supporters. Instead, the march became a march by the mob, which broke into the Capitol building, forcing lawmakers out of their seats.
The footage was released by CNNPelosi was closely followed as she fled the building. She made constant phone calls asking for help to secure the Capitol, and to continue the election certification process.
Pelosi, along with Sens., was moved to Fort McNair. Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, and Reps. Steny Hyer and Kevin McCarthy were all moved to Fort McNair. This footage shows Pelosi, Schumer trying to get help from Trump’s administration.
Some of the footage was made public earlier in the week during the House select committee hearing. The hearing, which could be the last, was held by the committee. Unanimously voted for Trump subpoenaFor documents and testimony.
