Idaho murders: A third unsolved stabbing attack is resurfaced amid college slaying mystery

MOSCOW, Idaho — Investigators skipped Thanksgiving in order to continue their hunt for a suspect in four unsolved killings at the University of Idaho. A third unsolved stabbing has resurfaced in the Pacific Northwest with strange similarities.

Reporters during a Wednesday news briefing Moscow police about the possible connection between the students’ slayings and a second unsolved stabbing, which left Travis Juetten dead and seriously injured his wife Jamilyn in Oregon.

Travis Juetten, 26 years old, fought back but was too weak to fight his injuries. His 26-year-old wife survived 19 stab wounds.

Moscow Police Chief James Fry announced Wednesday that the agency was looking at all possible avenues. He also stated that other agencies were reaching out to him with other cases. While he stated that his office had been informed about the case by the Moscow Police Chief James Fry, it was not aware of any connection between the two cases.

The next morning, The Idaho Tribune reportedThe third nearby attack had similar characteristics.

According to Oregon authorities Sandra Ladd, aged 71, was found murdered in her Washougal, Oregon home on June 14, 2020. Washougal police stated that her death was a homicide because she had multiple stab wounds to her torso.

Although they were only 70 miles apart, the attacks on Oregon occurred 14 months apart. These locations are about five hours drive west from Moscow, Idaho.

According to police, University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin (20 years old), Madison Mogen (20 years old), and Kaylee Goncalves (21) were stabbed to death at 3:45 a.m. in a nearby rental house.

The incident occurred between 3 and 4 in the morning on the 13th of each month, just like the attack on Juettens.

Details about the timing of Ladd’s death were not immediately clear. Her body was discovered at 4:30 p.m. – in her bed, the Oregonian reported at the time.

In all three cases, there has not been a suspect identified.

Aaron Snell of the Idaho State Police Communications Director told Fox News Digital on Thursday that investigators will be looking into possible connections between the cases.

He said, “Unequivocally, even with not asking anybody, our investigators will be aware that.” “They will look into the possibility that they’re linked…anything that would be a remote possibility as a connection will be something that we consider.”

He stated that investigators had not “ruled out any idea, concept”, but it was too early for them to know definitively if any of the cases were connected.

The Thanksgiving holiday saw federal, state and local investigators spend the day on the job, searching for clues eleven days after students were killed in a grisly scene just yards from campus.

Two roommatesPolice say that the people who were found sleeping on the bottom floor in the home were not attacked.

They have been eliminated as suspects together with other witnesses who saw some of the victims on the night prior to their deaths.

Moscow police stated that they believe The student assassinations were “targeted.”They declined to elaborate.

Investigators have not found a murder weapon and are asking anyone who has surveillance video in the area to provide it.

They also looked into reports that Goncalves was stalked before the attack.

Police released a statement saying that Kaylee had mentioned having a stalker but that detectives were unable to confirm the statement. “Investigators would like to hear from anyone who has information about a stalker, or any unusual cases,” police stated.
