Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion at dual weight, appears to be back to his best after a recent sparring session.

McGregor uploaded a video to social media recently that featured him sparring in Dublin with an unknown opponent. He lost the match using what McGregor believes is a unique technique he invented.

“What’s up my students! Here is another brand spankin’ “Conor McGregor Created” shot for you all,” McGregor wrote alongside the video on Instagram.

McGregor, who has recently distanced himself form rumours about a rematch against boxing icon Floyd MayweatherHe appears determined to get his UFC career back on the right track in 2023.

The former featherweight and lightweight champion has only one win since 2016, and will now compete in the welterweight category. It is important to bulk up during his time away from fighting.

McGregor hopes to fight for the 170lb title held by Leon Edwards in his comeback fight.

But Edwards told talkSPORT he only has eyes for Kamaru Usman: “At the moment I’m only focused on Usman, obviously they all can get it.”

However, he opened up the possibility for a fight with McGregor after he faces Usman: “I don’t mind after Usman, anyone can get it.

“Conor McGregor and me have the same manager, it would be easy to make if that was to happen. But at the moment he hasn’t really said much about fighting me.”

So the door has been left ajar for ‘Notorious’.

The charismatic Irishman is feeling so confident after his recent sparring sessions that it is only a matter of time until he signs his next UFC fight contract.
