Qatar will host 2022 FIFA World Cup. 32 teams are competing to win the international title. Fox will be the tournament’s broadcast partner in the USA, but the games can also be streamed in Spanish on Peacock.
Qatar will take on Ecuador in the tournament’s opening match. This is as per the tradition of the host country. This tournament is the first to be held in the Middle East before the World Cup expands in 2026 to 48 teams.
France was the winner of the 2018 World Cup and is back as the top seed. Brazil is the favourite to win in the group stages. After failing to qualify in 2018, the United States will be competing in Group B at this year’s World Cup.
How to view the 2022 World Cup
The 2022 World Cup will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 1 USA starting November 20, Peacock will broadcast the tournament in Spanish as part of Telemundo’s simultaneous stream.

What is the format of the 2022 World Cup tournament?
The World Cup has a two-stage format. Each team is divided into four groups and plays every member of their group once. The knockout bracket will feature 16 teams and the two best match records from each group.
With the exception of semifinals losers, all losing teams in the knockout phase will be eliminated. They will instead play in a third-place match.
If there is a tie in the group stage, the winning team will advance to the next round.
