How to speed up an iPhone video in 2022

  • You can speed up a video with iMovie and the Photos app.
  • You can change the speed of a movie in iMovie with the Speed button located in the video editor toolbar.
  • By dragging the vertical bars beneath the frame viewer, you can speed up Slomo videos in Photos.

An iPhone can adjust the speed of a movie in two ways depending on what type of file it is.

Upload a video to the iMovie free app to increase its speed.

If Slo-Mo has been enabled on your iPhone, you can open the video in the Photos app and edit it. You can also play with the vertical bars underneath the frame viewer.

Here are the steps to accomplish both. 

How to adjust the speed for a video in iMovie

1. Open the iMovie App on your iPhone. Tap to open the iMovie app on your iPhone. Continue.

2. A New ProjectsA window will then appear. Tap Movie.

3. Select a video from the camera roll to tap next screen Make a MovieAt the bottom

Click on a video you like, and click on “Create Movie”.

4. Tap the video clip and wait for the video editing tool to appear. Speed toolThis looks like a speedometer.

Click on the video clip and highlight it yellow. Next, tap the speedometer icon from the toolbar.

5. To speed up or slow down your video, drag the yellow slider at its bottom to the right. You can speed up your video up to 2x or slow it down up to 1/8x.

6. Tap Done In the upper-left corner of your screen

7. Click the Share You can click the button at bottom of screen to select how you would like to save your completed video.

How to speed-up a Slomo video on an iPhone in the Photos App

1. Open the Photos app, and choose the Albums Tab at the bottom

Go to “Albums” in the Photos app.

2. The Albums Scroll down to page Media TypesSection and tap Slo-mo.

3. Tap the video that you wish to speed up, and then select it. Edit The top-right corner.

4. Drag the two white horizontal bars that are taller than the video timeline together in the white hatched area below the video timeline to remove Slo-Mo and speed up your video.

5. Tap Done The bottom-right corner.
