How to mirror your iPhone screen to a Macbook

• With QuickTime and a Lightning-to-USB cable, you can mirror the iPhone screen to a Mac.
• You can also mirror your iPhone’s screen to a Mac wirelessly with AirPlay.
• AirPlay requires that both iPhone and Mac are connected to the same W-Fi network.

Connectivity is one of the iPhone’s best assets. Apple products have many ways that you can share what is on your iPhone to a Mac.

This is useful if you need to display a photo album on your computer, stream music from Apple Music and Spotify from your iPhone to your Mac or play video content from iPhone apps such as Hulu. Screen mirroring from iPhone or Mac to Mac allows you to record everything you do on your phone.

There are several ways to mirror your iPhone onto your Mac. The easiest is to use either the QuickTime app or the Screen Mirroring feature of your iPhone. This uses AirPlay.

2. Open QuickTime on your Mac.

4.Click New Movie Recording.

5. Click the down arrow next to the red button (bottom middle). 

6. Select your iPhone in the list of devices. If your iPhone is not listed, you can try disconnecting and reconnecting it.

7. You should now mirror your iPhone on your computer.

AirPlay – How to mirror iPhone images to Macs

1. AirPlaying within an app means that you can start playing content like a movie or show. Then, hit the AirPlay icon (it’s a rectangular with a solid triangle at its bottom) in upper-right corner.

2. After you have selected the AirPlay symbol within an app, or Screen Mirroring from the Control Center, a pop-up will ask you to select a device — tap the name of your Mac.

Your iPhone content will now be displayed on your Mac computer’s display.
