Pages word count for Mac
Open your document in Pages on Mac to see word count and other statistics.
Step 1To display the word count, choose one of these options:
- Choose ViewThe PagesToolbar and pick Show word count.
- Select ViewThe Menü barChoose and Show word count.
Step 2 You’ll then see the word count displayed at the bottom of your document.
Use the ArrowsYou can see the word count on the right side, with or without spaces.
After you have selected the statistic that you wish to see, it will remain at the bottom. This will allow you to track your chosen count as you go through the document.
Step 3Select the option to hide the word count once more ViewThe ToolbarOr Menü barPick and choose Hide word count.
Notification: If you’re viewing a different statistic at the time, you’ll see that in the View menu instead. Hide Paragraph Count or Hide Character Count may be displayed.
Pages word count for iPhone
It is possible that you are working on the go and need to view the word count in Pages from your iPhone. It’s as simple as that.

Pages word count for iPad

Step 1Tap the button to open the Pages document. ViewClick the icon at the top left.
Step 2For more information, turn on the toggle Word count.

Step 4You can reopen the case to hide the results. Viewto turn off the toggle Word count.
Just like on iPhone, if you turn on the word count for a Pages document on iPad, you’ll see the count for other Pages documents you open.
