The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight took a while, and boxing fans will likely have to wait longer if they want a rematch.

The fight didn’t live up the expectations. Mayweather Jr. cruised to a unanimous decision victory in twelve rounds.

Although both men have retired from professional boxing, they are frequently questioned about whether or not they will return to the ring.

Recently, however, Pacquiao quickly shut down any lingering fan hopes of a rematch, as when asked about fighting Mayweather Jr again, he said: “I don’t think that will happen because he’s scared to death to face me in the ring again.

“He’s scared. From the beginning he’s felt intimidated [by]I am afraid to face myself.

“It might be possible for an exhibition, but I don’t know yet.”

Mayweather Jr himself has consistently told the media that he will not be returning to the ring in a professional bout ever again, but only in exhibitions against opponents who can’t realistically hurt him.
