Greenwald slams NBC reporter for panicking about Elon Musk buying Twitter

Glenn Greenwald, an independent journalist, called out NBC’s reporter Tuesday for their panic over Elon Musk buying Twitter.

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO announced on Tuesday that he plans to pursue the original deal to acquire Twitter. Ben Collins, “extremism” and “disinformation reporterDo not panic. He warned that Musk would “get complete control” of Twitter and “it could affect midterms”, with “no immediate replacement.”

Glenn Greenwald, an independent journalist turned the tables on Collins and his mainstream media colleagues for “capriciously”, and said that Collins and others promote “lies and disinformation whenever and wherever they like.”

“This person bizarrely doesn’t realize he is an employee of one of the largest media corporations in the world — the Comcast Corp., with NBC News as one of its units — and they, too, ‘capriciously’ promote whatever lies and disinformation they want with ‘no real guardrails,’” Greenwald wrote.

TWITTER SAYS THAT IT PLANS TO CLOSE A DEAL WITH ELON MUSK

Greenwald attacked news outlets by sharing video coverage that showed them airing debunked stories. Russia offers bounties to U.S. troopsOr Putin blackmailing Trump.

“Then we have Collins’ corporate masters, NBC News, owned by the Comcast Corp., spreading the complete lie that Russia paid ‘bounties’ for the heads of US soldiers in Afghanistan and that Trump did nothing about it because he’s captive to the Kremlin,” Greenwald tweeted along with a video.

He continued with another video, in which Joe Scarborough, “Morning Joe”, was discussing a conspiracy theory concerning former President Trump.

“And here’s Joe Scarborough, Collins’ corporate colleague and joining Nancy Pelosi in spreading the absolutely [bats**t]Insane conspiracy theory: Putin controlled Trump by blackmail, even as Trump armed Ukraine.

Collins posted a Twitter thread warning about the “dramatically” changing platform after the Tesla CEO announced that he was likely to buy Twitter.

“For those of your asking: Yes, I believe that this site can and should change if Musk takes full control. There is no immediate replacement. He wrote that if it is done quickly enough, based upon the people he has aligned himself with, it may actually impact midterms. Musk may be making this site private. There are no real safeguards. Rulemaking is not always predictable. He can make any idea or person his own by making recommendations and UX choices. There will not be oversight as a private business.

Greenwald responded to Collins tweets and said that the NBC reporter was worried people could point out when the mainstream media “lies”.

“People like Collins aren’t worried Musk can ‘capriciously’ promote what he wants ‘with no guardrails.’ They’re only worried when this allows people to freely point out their lies,” he tweeted. This is why employees at the biggest media corporations (eg Collins. @BrandyZadrozny. @TaylorLorenz. etc.) feel so strongly about censorship. are the most vocal and devoted advocates for censorship, why they neurotically whine if people can have ‘unfettered’ conversations. This puts their employers at risk.

Greenwald also shared a thread with Chris Rufo (a senior fellow at Manhattan Institute), who is a champion of the fight against “critical-race theory” in schools as well as businesses.

Collins was responded by Rufo, stating that it was a case in which a reporter at NBC accidentally admitted that Twitter had been suppressing, manipulating and distorting public debate to benefit the political Left.

Greenwald warned of the consequences for journalists and big tech allies in trying to suppress dissidents.

September He warned., “The regime of censorship being imposed on the internet – by a consortium of DC Dems, billionaire-funded ‘disinformation experts,’ the US Security State, and liberal employees of media corporations – is dangerously intensifying in ways I believe are not adequately understood.”
