Giants brass didn’t know how Jones’ sprained left ankle would respond this week. With his backup, Taylor, in the concussion protocol, the team couldn’t leave anything to chance, so three quarterbacks — Brian Lewerke, Jake Fromm and AJ McCarron — were brought in for a tryout Tuesday.
