Georgia’s early voting set a new record for midterm elections despite claims of voter suppression

Georgia’s votersAccording to state election officials the record was set for the most votes cast in midterm elections before Election Day. This debunked claims by top Democrats that voter suppression would be possible under the state’s election law.

Friday night was the last day of Early Voting in the Peach State. There were more than 2,288,889 votes cast. Early Voting had begun on October 17.

Georgia received 2.5 million votes before Tuesday’s Election if you include absentee and Early Voting. As of Friday, more than 75% had been returned to the county election offices.

The state has already received 2,504,956 ballots, which is less than the 2.6 million votes required for 2020 Presidential Election.

He said, “County election directors dealt with that demand with the greatest professionalism.” “They were able navigate through a variety of difficulties and performed seamlessly. They are deserving of our highest praise.

The Early Voting period’s turnout was far higher than that of the 2018 midterm election when 1.8million Georgia voters cast their ballots.

Friday’s total in-person voting was 6% higher that the final day for Early Voting in 2020.

Three weeks ago, Georgia began Early Voting. The state has had record turnout. This is nearly double the number of voters who cast ballots on the first day.

Georgia Democrat gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams claimed repeatedly this year that high voter participation and voter suppression can coexist. Abrams has been a vocal opponent of the voter legislation since its inception.

Major League Baseball moved the 2021 All-Star Game, which was being criticised by Democrats to Denver.

Abrams, who was running to unseat Kemp’s seat, never acknowledged her 2018 race against Kemp. She argued that he suppressed the vote as then-secretary state.

A FOX News poll last month found that Kemp outnumbers Abrams 49%-43%
