In an interview with The Times at the edge of her new book, “Dying of Politeness”, Davis recounted how she met Murray for the very first time in a hotel room. Fox News Digital requested comment from Murray, but Murray representatives did not respond immediately.
Davis stated in her book that “I said no multiplely, but he wouldn’t relent,” per People magazine.

Davis claims that Murray “placed it on my back for about two seconds.”
Murray’s first behavior towards The Times was “bad,” Davis, 66, stated. “The way he behaved at the first meeting… I should have walked out of that or profoundly defended myself, in which case I wouldn’t have got the part.”
Davis revealed that Murray, 72 when she was given the role of Phyllis Potter, was cruel to Davis.
Davis recalled waiting on her wardrobe team when Murray pulled up in her trailer. Davis began screaming at Murray for being late. According to Davis, he “continues shouting at her while she hurries onto set and even before she gets there, infront of hundreds of cast, crew members, curious passersby.”

Davis, who reflected on her relationship and issues with Murray, told The Times, “There’s no point in regretting things, and yet, here I was regretting. And yes, exactly, it wasn’t my fault.”
