Bier told Insider Saturday via DM: “I think the role would be exciting—but Gas is fully occupying my time right now.”

Gas — a social media app where high schoolers can anonymously vote in polls — is quickly gaining popularity since it was released in August this year. The product specialist Gas acquired 30,000 users an hour in October, and had reached one million daily users with just four people.

More than 500 million polls are currently being sent.

Co-founders Bier and Isaiah Turner designed the app as a “place to make us feel better about our selves” where users can vote in polls that include compliments such as “would probably be a modeling when they get older.”

The poll’s questions will be set by the company. Users can anonymously vote for their friends. The poll’s top vote-getters receive a “flame”, which is a message in their inbox. Bier tweeted to Musk, April 2, “Hire me as Twitter’s VP of Product.” I’ve been building social apps for 11 years—and not in a way that leads products to decay like a typical BigTech ‘product director dad’,” adding, “Twitter has the potential to be the leading messenger, groups app & content creation tool.”

It isn’t known if Bier meant to be serious or if he was just making fun of Musk’s comments.

One user wrote in April asking Bier about his Twitter Web3 strategy. Bier replied that he would “Fire a executive who made NFT profile photographs.”

Bier also co-founded a similar social media application called tbh. This app topped the App Store charts just before Facebook announced that it would be buying it in 2017. According to Facebook, the price was less than $100 million. TechCrunch.

According to his LinkedIn profile the entrepreneur was then a product manager at Meta for 4 years.
