Gabriel Landeskog, Avalanche Captain, will miss 12 weeks due to knee surgery

Colorado AvalancheCaptain Gabriel LandeskogJared Bednar, Avalanche coach, said Wednesday that Landeskog had undergone knee surgery in Minnesota Tuesday and will miss 12 weeks. Landeskog was unable to participate in games this season due to a lower body injury he sustained last year.

Landeskog had knee surgery last March. However, he was still experiencing pain at times. Bednar explained that Landeskog began experiencing pain again when he went back to the ice for offseason practice.

The Avalanche are known for their top-line of Artturi Lehkonen, Nathan MacKinnonAnd Mikko Rantanen, and they have felt Landeskog’s absence in their top-six forward group.
