Fulham vs Newcastle LIVE Stream: Aleksandar Mitrovic hopes to continue scoring form, and break the hoodoo against ex-club members who are likely to be without key players

Fulham will welcome Newcastle to Craven Cottage this Saturday, as the Premier League resumes after the international break.

Marco Silva’s side have begun the season positively after promotion and now they face the Magpies who have drawn five of their opening seven games.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Cottagers striker, will be eager to continue his good form against his old club against which he has never scored against.

Eddie Howe introduced new faces to Tyneside in the summer but it is possible that he will not be there with his club-record signings, Alexander Isak (and Bruno Guimaraes) at the weekend.

Fulham vs Newcastle: Team news

Harry Wilson will remain out of Fulham, but will be joined by Joao Palhinha, who has been suspended.

According to some reports, Mitrovic, top scorer in the world, had a slight knock while on international duty. He is expected to be back to full strength soon.

After being out of action for three weeks, Isak has been replaced by a new Newcastle signing.

They could however have Guimaraes or Callum Wilson back in their squad.

Fulham vs Newcastle: What’s been said?

Wilson is positive that he can play Saturday.

He said: “We have Fulham on Saturday, which is away – looking forward to that one.

“I’ve worked hard to get to a point where I’m available for selection.

“I’ll be working hard this week in training, and then we’ll see where we are at.”

Fulham vs Newcastle: Match facts

  • Newcastle’s Callum Wilson has scored three goals in three Premier League appearances against Fulham (two for Bournemouth, one for Newcastle), netting once every 90 minutes – only against Huddersfield does he have a better mins/goal ratio among teams he’s played against more than once in the competition (5 goals, one every 72 minutes).
  • Fulham’s Willian has been directly involved in three goals (two goals, one assist) in his last three Premier League home starts against Newcastle (all for Chelsea). Fulham’s only player to score more than once in the competition is the Brazilian.
  • Fulham boss Marco Silva has won three of his five Premier League matches against Eddie Howe (D1 L1), with all three victories coming with different clubs (Hull City, Watford, and Everton) – no manager has ever won four games against another in the competition with each win coming for a different side.
  • Newcastle has had 108 shots (or 15.4 per game) this season in the Premier League. Only Man City (118), Liverpool (127) and Arsenal (116), have more. However, they’ve scored just eight goals, with only three sides having a lower shot conversion rate (7.4%).
  • Newcastle have had more high turnovers than any other Premier League team this season (80). Indeed, Eddie Howe’s side have averaged 11.4 per game this term, after only averaging 6.7 per game last season.
  • Fulham has won three of the five Premier League games they have played (L2) in as many matches as their 30 previous matches (D14, L13). The Cottagers could win as many as four of their opening eight games to a Premier League season for the first time since 2012-13 – their last top-flight campaign in which they weren’t relegated, finishing in 12th place.
  • Newcastle are now winless in six Premier League (D5L1) games since their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in their first match of the season. It’s their longest run without a win since November 2021 (14 games), a run which included Eddie Howe’s first three games in charge (D2 L1).
  • Fulham won their two Premier League home matches, the same number as their 21 victories at Craven Cottage. They won their last three home wins in the top-flight in April and September 2012 (a string of four), while the last time they did it was in April 2011.
  • Newcastle have won their last two away league games against Fulham, this following a run of six straight defeats at Craven Cottage – they’ve never won three away league games in a row against them before.
  • Fulham have won 12 of their 28 Premier League games against Newcastle (D5 L11) – against no side have they won more in the competition (also 12 against Bolton).
