Fortnite: The Best Places to Land

To help with deciding where to start out each match, we’ll detail the best places to land in FortniteRight now, Season 4, Chapter 3. This season brings a few changes to the beloved. FortniteMap, based on the major changes made at Chapter 3. The new season is called Chapter 3, Season 4: Paradise, focusing on a creepy Chrome substance that’s slowly overtaking the map. The map is mostly unchanged this time, but there are a few new POIs and a new meta. That means you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for the new locations during this season, especially with the addition of the new Chrome material.

Points of interest can change the game significantly, and even determine the best spots to land. Because of the many factors involved in choosing where to land, it can be difficult. The best places to land were chosen based on how much loot they have, how many people tend to land there and their general popularity as well the likelihood of decentspawns.

We have a starting point for everyone, no matter if you like to fight or hide until the last player is gone.

Reality Tree (Waterfall).

Our list’s first landing spot is an intriguing one, which has been less popular since its introduction in the last season. Reality Tree is home of a huge, colorful tree that sits on top of a body water. Although this area is quite nice, you should focus your attention on the set of waterfalls to the northwestern side. As video games have conditioned us over the years, there is, in fact, a “hidden” area behind the waterfall, and here, you’ll find a hefty amount of loot, including chests, weapons, and healing items.

You can escape this area by following the path to west. This leads out of the cave to a set bouncy mushrooms, from which you can quickly flee. Or, if you’d like to get into some action, head back the way you came, through the waterfall and into the main area of Reality Falls, where there’s bound to be at least one other player.

Rocky Reels is northeast of Rocky Reels: Gas Station

This recommended landing spot remains from the last season, as it’s still a great area, especially if you want to stay safe. It’s perfect for newcomers or players who want to take it easy while remaining close to zone. The gas station to the northeast of Rocky Reels is where you should aim. It’s best to land on the roof of the pump area since there’s typically a weapon or two there. Then, jump down and visit the large truck container, where you’ll likely find a chest inside, and then make your way inside the gas station. Here, you’ll find a slew of loot and chests, especially in the duct area of the building. Be thorough, and you’ll find food boxes with fruit and peppers, along with other healing items.

There’s also metal in this area, which of course is worth grabbing (assuming you’re playing a mode that features building). From here, head to the small building to the west, and you’ll find Slurp Barrels, along with more loot. To rotate out of the spot, you can use a nearby vehicle to head to zone. The nice thing is that it’s in the center of the map, so you shouldn’t have trouble making it to the next safe area.

The Temple

The Temple is another great landing spot, located northeast of Lustrous Lake. This area is nice because it’s out of the way enough to usually be free of other players. This area is relatively safe so we recommend that you visit all three floors. You’ll find plenty of loot here, including chests, weapons, and even Slurp Barrels. There’s also usually a car spawn to the east, across the main street that can be used to rotate into zone.

Another reason this spot is so popular is the fact that you can get ready before heading to Lustrous Lagoon. This is a highly competitive area. Sure, you can land there right away, but you’re likely to come across other players, making it tougher to survive the initial drop. Unlucky players could land right next to you with a weapon, making it easier for them to take you out. But if you land at The Temple first, you can prepare yourself before heading into Lustrous Lagoon, which is another excellent POI that’s chock-full of loot.

Chonker’s Speedway

Chonker’s Speedway has it all, so you’ll want to plan your route depending on your playstyle. This area can be highly contested depending on where the Battle Bus starts, but even if you’re a less aggressive player, you can still make this landing spot work. This location has two main buildings, each offering plenty of loot. Pay attention to your surroundings to determine if there are any other people nearby. If they do, you should try to avoid them to get ready for the day ahead. The large building to your west has plenty of loot along with some tire stacks. These can be used for quick escapes by jumping onto the roof.

There are a few chests here as well, so open them and then use the tires to bounce over to the main portion of Chonker’s Speedway, where you’ll find even more loot. You should have at least one decent weapon to defend yourself against any nearby enemies. After you’ve fully looted this location, you can utilize one of the many nearby trucks to get into zone when the next storm circle hits.

Tilted Towers

Tilted Towers has always been a great landing spot, though you’re likely to encounter several enemies if you land there. The beauty of this area is that it’s absolutely stacked with loot, including safes, Slurp Barrels, and powerful weapons to help you outlast the competition. Depending on how you play, it might be wise to tread carefully in this area. You can let your foes run around before third-partying with them as they fight their opponents. Don’t forget to hit the Bounty board on the north side, as well.

We recommend paying close attention to other players that will be landing in this area. There’s no shortage of strategies to use in this area. To stock up on equipment, you could go to the north end before heading to Coney Crossroads. Or, perhaps you’ll want to completely overtake Tilted Towers by looting each building, which usually results in getting an all-powerful loadout. Either way, you’ll be stacked on gear after you leave this area, but surviving is trickier than you might expect, especially since it’s in the middle of the map. We recommend landing here if you’re an expert player since it’s usually a hot drop.

Rave Cave

Rave Cave is another hot drop, but if you can survive the initial influx of players, you’ll be in a fantastic position to come out on top during a match. The most common strategy is to land inside the bear’s head at the top of Rave Cave. Inside, you’ll find a few chests, loot, and Slurp Barrels, which will give you an advantage right from the start. You’ll likely have to compete against other players looking to do the same, though. The next step is to get to the top of the mountain’s rave area.

But first, drop down from the bear’s head to the north, where you’ll find a platform with more loot, as well as a launcher pad that can get you out of harm’s way if need be. You will find another platform just above the water with more gear. From there, you should be well-equipped enough to take on anyone in the rave area, but you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. You can use another launch pad to reach the middle of the map or fight inside the cave to earn more loot.

Greasy Grove (Fungi Farm).

Fungi Farm is a small, but very productive area located southwest of Greasy Grove. This farm has lots and lots mushrooms. This spot also contains blue bounce mushrooms which will give you 15 shield point when you jump on them. You can even get them to regenerate within seconds. This is a great opportunity to maximize your shield points quickly. The best way to get loot is by landing on top of this mushroom cluster. Sometimes it even contains a chest. You can use this as a vantage point to see what’s around.

Continue on your way, opening up chests as you go and collecting loot. Once you’re stocked up, head southwest to the depot area, where you’ll find Slurp Barrels, more bouncy mushrooms, and other pieces of gear. By the time you’re through with this area, you should have a hefty amount of loot, increasing your odds of winning. The only downside is that this area is way out of the way, making it easy to get caught in the storm if you aren’t paying attention. If you travel to the northeast and cross a small body water, you will find a truck that can help you get to safety.

Reality Sapling

Realty Seed in Fortnite.

The Reality Sapling mechanic was first introduced a few seasons ago. It is still in use today. Fortnite. You’ll find the Reality Seeds from bulbs around the map, including the Reality Tree area. Plant the seed, and it’ll grow over the course of many matches, eventually bearing fruit containing lots of loot. The loot will be rarer the longer it is left to grow.

The best thing about this feature is that you can plant the seeds anywhere on the map, and they’ll remain there from match to match. This way, you’ll have a consistent source of loot without having to worry about defeating enemies. We recommend placing your seed in a spot you’re comfortable with. For example, we placed one to the south of Tilted Towers, allowing us to come prepared to one of the map’s busiest areas.

Herald’s Sanctum

One of the new areas during Season 4 is Herald’s Sanctum, a location packed with Chrome. This mechanic allows players to rapidly escape from their enemies by transforming into a Chrome blob and phasing through walls. Herald’s Sanctum contains Chrome chests, which yield the new Chrome weapons, and even Chrome Splashes. Chrome Splashes can also be obtained by destroying the trees.

With this being one of the main sources of Chrome, it’s likely to be a contested area, so you’ll need to grab a weapon and other gear right away to defend yourself. If you aren’t confident in your skills, we recommend landing elsewhere, as this location can get tricky to navigate, especially at the start of the season. There are plenty of vehicles nearby, so once you’re stocked up, you can easily get away.

‘Loon Pawntoon

'Loon Pawntoon in Fortnite.

The next recommended landing spot remains from previous seasons, and it’s a peculiar one. This is the random’Loon Pawntoon boat, which spawns in different locations each match. Because of this, landing there consistently can be tricky, but if you stumble upon it, you’ll be in excellent shape. This boat floats above water during Season 4. You can reach it by using the zipline. Before jumping from the Battle Bus to find the secret loot boat, we recommend looking around.

‘Loon Pawntoon has plenty of foraged food, Slurp Barrels, foraged items, standard chests, and an abundance of materials. To bounce back to shore when the storm is approaching, you can also use the pad at its top. Ultimately, this landing spot isn’t the most reliable since it can be hard to find, but if you see it, you should prioritize paying it a visit since it’s so effective. As you collect loot, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for a keycard that will give you access to the vaults.

Vaults

Vaults are also new this season — at least in terms of the way you’re able to access them. You can find vaults all over the map, which contain a lot of powerful loot. To get into them, you must locate keys. It can be hard to gain access to the vaults throughout the map. Therefore, it is a good idea to land at a close location to the vaults in order to open chests.

Some vaults require two keys to access, but some offer more loot. Most vaults require only one key. To increase your chances of getting access, make sure you open as many chests possible. To play it safe, you might want to land around Chonker’s Speedway, where you’ll find two nearby vaults in the surrounding area.
