Forest is looking for Cooper replacements. Could Nuno, Lage, Dyche or Benitez do better?

Recent years have seen a significant increase in Nottingham ForestThey have a consistent routine. They don’t pull the trigger on a decision to end company with a manager until a replacement has been found.

When Martin O’Neill departed in the summer of 2019, Sabri Lamouchi was announced almost immediately. When Lamouchi’s time was up early in his second season, Chris Hughton arrived in the manager’s office with the seat still warm.

There were a few days between Hughton’s departure and the appointment of Steve Cooper roughly a year ago.

But, now The latest Forest manager to feel under extreme pressure is the Welshman following a run of five consecutive Premier League defeats, the club have already been pondering candidates to possibly replace him — and are even understood to have sounded out at least one about their potential interest in the job.

This is not uncommon at Forest, where the hierarchy likes to have several options available in times of difficulty.

These moments have not been the norm in the past. Owner Evangelos Marinakis should ask two questions as they consider their options.

Is it possible to make a positive change right now? Is it going to solve their problems?

The names that are understood to be on Forest’s shortlist are not shabby. Men with extensive top-flight experience, managers with proven quality and trophies are all on Forest’s shortlist.
