Following wild celebrations, Tennessee requests donations to help pay for new goalposts

The University of TennesseeThe Neyland Stadium alumni and student body were urged to assist in the construction of new goalposts after the Tennessee River was filled with old ones.

Fans Tore down the goalpostsThe Volunteers defeated Alabama 52-49 on Saturday night. The goalposts were paraded through Knoxville by the fans before being dumped into the river. The school requested help raising funds for the new uprights by tweeting on Sunday.

“It turns out, in order to play next weeks’ game, we need goalposts. We need your help.

Donors can donate $16. This amount corresponds with the time it took Tennessee to beat Alabama once again. $52.49 represents the final score. $25, $100 or $250 is the final score. $1,019.15 corresponds to the selling capacity.Neyland Stadium.
