In 2016, the E190 E2 was the first variant of the E-2 family to fly. Norway’s Widerøe Airlines later launched the plane’s inaugural passenger flight in 2018.

The E175-E2 is the smallest model. However, production has been temporarily stopped due to “ongoing US Mainline Scope Claus discussions with the pilot unions concerning the maximum takeoff weight (MTOW), limitation for aircraft with up to 76 seats.”

Comparatively, the E190/E2 and E195/E2 jets offer a 5,278 km (3,280 mi) and a 4,815 km (2,992 mils) range, respectively. The A220 models outperformed the E-2 jets by at most 1,000 kilometers (621 miles).
