Floyd Mayweather has plans to make a dramatic return to professional boxing. In 2023, Floyd Mayweather could face Manny Pacquiao or Conor McGregor.
‘Money’ retired from the sport in 2017 after beating the former dual-weight UFC champion, McGregor, inside ten rounds to stretch his perfect record to 50-0.
The 45-year-old has been participating in lucrative exhibition fights against internet stars, MMA fighters, and one of his sparring partners since then.
Mayweather will be back in the ring on November 13, to take on YouTuber DejiFollowing three white-collar defeats, he just won his pro boxing debut.
According to organizers, the fighter will be paid between $25million- $30million when he takes on the legend of boxing at the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai next month.
Uday Singh, Global Titans CEO and Global Titans founder, believes he can make more of his potential future success. Uday recently said that Mayweather has plans to retire from professional boxing.
“We do have plans to do a real fight, which is not an exhibition fight, with Floyd and someone else next year,” he told Insider.
“We’re looking at Las Vegas as a venue, and that’s somewhere next year after October. We have already spoken and will announce names later.
“These are very big names as we’ve had interest from a few people like Conor [McGregor] and Manny Pacquiao.”
Mayweather recently claimed that talks for a second fight with McGregor are underway, but the former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion insisted he is ‘Are you not interested?’ in a rematch right now.
‘Notorious’ is currently healing up from the fractured tibia and fibula he suffered at UFC 264 in July 2021 and is expected to return to MMA in 2023.
In 2015 Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr finally clashed after years of fans calling for the fight that ultimately failed to live up to expectations, as it never really caught fire, with ‘TBE’ cruising to a unanimous decision victory.
Pacquiao has recently been Talk of a possible rematch has been stopped but not because he’s not interested like McGregor, the Filipino boxing legend just thinks Mayweather is ‘scared to death’ of him and would not entertain a second bout.
