Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Deji to air live on DAZN Pay Per View as ‘Money’ continues lucrative exhibitions

DAZN has confirmed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be vs Deji.

It came as surprising news when it was announced that Deji, the younger brother of YouTuber-turned boxer KSI, would be taking on the self proclaimed ‘TBE’ (The Best Ever) in an Dubai Exhibition bout, 13 November.

It comes as less surprising news that fans will have to pay to watch the exhibition, as Mayweather Jr has the nickname ‘Money’ for a reason.

This will not be taken well by boxing fans, however, as DAZN initially marketed themselves by saying, ‘Pay-Per-View is dead’ and that they would only operate as a monthly subscription platform.

However, they recently had plans to put Chris Eubank Jrvs Conor Benn on pay-per-view and the Canelo vs Gennady Golovkin trilogy bout was only available on pay-per-view, making this Mayweather Jr vs Deji clash just the latest in DAZN’s long line of pay-per-view shows.

Mayweather Jr. is one man who won’t be complaining. He has found that exhibition bouts are a very lucrative option after retiring from professional boxing.

This will be his fifth show, after previously taking on Logan Paul, a social media star and one of his sparring partners.

Deji will be fighting in his fifth fight after he lost three of his previous contests. He also has only one win, as Mayweather Jr retired with a professional record of 50-0.

It doesn’t seem that either man will take this fight too seriously. They recently met for the very first time.The couple even shared a kiss.

Deji told FightHype after the event: “I mean what can I say? It is surreal.

“Never did I think this would happen. I don’t know what’s going on, this is amazing.

“I’m just here to have fun, realistically. This whole thing, I’m here to have fun.

“Obviously I’m gonna be competitive, but I’m here to have fun. Floyd will see what I can do. We’ll see what happens.”
