Florida man charged with multiple attempts to impersonate law enforcement was arrested on suspicion of violating probation

A central Florida manA man who was accused of multiple times impersonating law enforcement officers has been again arrested.

42-year-old Jeremy Dewitte was taken into custody Tuesday. This was just months after he was released.  Sheriff Marcos Lopez explained that Dewitte had locked himself in his Kissimmee home for hours before he was taken into custody. “I’m not going back to prison, not today. Dewitte stated that he was not being taken back to prison for a technical violation as he was being escorted away by Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Windermere officers discovered videos of Dewitte from his helmet camera in 2019 pulling over cars in central Florida. He was also working as a funeral attendant. FOX 35 Orlando reports. 

“He’d go around directing traffic, stopping people stopping cars,” said Sheriff Lopez. “The guy’s definitely out of control.”

According to court records, Dewitte did not take down YouTube channels where the videos were posted.

Dewitte stated that someone hacked the account and changed the username and passwords.  “We attempted to take down the YouTube channel that had been hacked multiple times.”

“You can definitely deactivate your account, so he’s full of it,” Sheriff Lopez responded.

Sheriff Lopez announced that Dewitte would face additional charges in Osceola County if he refuses to cooperate or violates further terms of probation.
