Five puppies are found in a hole by cyclists who then carry them to safety in their shirts!

A professional cyclist was caught on camera while on a training bike in Brazil earlier this month. Thyago Costa Silva’s eye.

Silva found five tiny puppies in the deepest pit of his stomach.

“They were in a super remote place, far away,” he told The Dodo. “Someone dug the hole and left them there to die. They were weak and couldn’t escape.”

Silva and his companion knew that they had to help.

Silva and his friend gently lifted each dog from the hole. Silva then offered water from their bottles.

“They were dying of thirst and hunger,” Silva said. “They just wanted to survive.”

The cyclists gave the dogs hope.

With no other means of carrying the puppies to safety, Silva and his friend placed the puppies in their shirts — and rode them the 12-mile journey home.

“It was very emotional,” Silva said.

Silva helped the dogs regain their strength once they were back.

“I took them home and took care of them,” Silva said.

He did much more.

Silva shared his excitement about the five puppies that he had found, and soon each of them got the attention they desired.

“They were all adopted by good people who love animals,” Silva said. “Thank God.”

The sweetest thing happened to what began as a heartbreaking scene on a remote bike path. Rescued from the verge of death, the puppies’ futures now has never looked brighter.

“They will have a better life,” Silva said. “I’m sure they will be well taken care of. This makes me so happy.”
