It’s a great time to be a smartwatch enthusiast and for the entire wearable market. With the Fitbit Sense 2 & Versa 4, we have new options from Samsung and Apple. Just because a new option is offered doesn’t mean that you should upgrade. That’s why we’re answering the question of Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit 2 users who are trying to decide between Fitbit S2 and Fitbit S3.
Fitbit Sense 2 vs. Fitbit Sense 2: Which is the same?
Simply put, there isn’t much to the Sense 2 and original. Fitbit Sense. These smartwatches can monitor your heart rate and stress levels as well as track at least 20 specific activities.
One major design change has occurred, which we will discuss in the next section. You might not be able to tell the Fitbit flagship smartwatches apart except for that. Both feature the 1.58-inch AMOLED display with 336×336 resolution. They also have a frame made of aluminum and paired with a silicone band.

The Sense 2 will also have a battery life of six days or more. This compares to the original Sense. However, with both devices, workout tracking and the always-on display will impact the projected totals.
While Fitbit PremiumSense 2 and Sense Sense will be fully functional, so the company will provide a six-month trial. This trial gives you more time to determine whether premium is worth the investment or if it’s okay to continue using the service without paying.
Fitbit Sense 2 vs Fitbit Sense 2: What’s the difference?
As we mentioned, the largest difference between the Fitbit Sense 2 and the Fitbit Sense 2 is the reintroduction of a physical buttons on the left. Fitbit has tried several times to make its capacitive button compatible with smartwatches and fitness trackers. However, it never succeeded. This is a sign that Fitbit listens to its users. The physical button makes it easier to interact with the device.
There is only one difference between the two wearables when it comes to fitness and health tracking. EDA (electrodermal activation) sensors were introduced in the original Fitbit Sense. They allowed you to monitor the electrical levels of the skin over the course of the day. However, it was a little cumbersome to use. It wasn’t made available at launch and was inactive until Fitbit. Fitbit Sense 2 replaces the old sensor with a cEDA (continuous electrormal activity) monitor. The Sense 2 can now measure your stress levels continuously throughout the day, as the name implies. If your stress levels are too high, the watch will alert you and give you some tips on how to return to “normal”.
It’s been three years. Google bought FitbitGoogle has not had much input into the software’s development. Wearables by Fitbit. This began to change with the Sense. Users can now Use Google AssistantAlexa (or Alexa) directly to their wrists. Google’s Sense 2 enabled them to add even more features while they wait for the WearOS-powered Fitbit smartwatch.
The Sense 2 gives users the opportunity to use Google WalletFitbit Pay is available, as well as turn-by-turn directions via Google Maps. This is huge news for Google and Fitbit, but it comes with a catch. Neither of these apps will be launched at launch. Perhaps even more confusing, Fitbit’s official support page lists Amazon Alexa only as an option.
Fitbit Sense 2 vs. Fitbit Sense2: Should You Upgrade?
There are only three reasons to upgrade from the Sense 2 to the Sense 1. First, those who are bothered or annoyed by the capacitive button. They would prefer a physical one. The next is for people who want to be able (eventually!) to use Google Maps/Google Wallet without having to grab a smartphone. WearOS smartwatch.
If you are concerned about your stress levels, the last reason. If you are in this category, a cEDA sensor will be a great tool as you don’t have to do those tests manually throughout the day.
Other than that, the Sense 2 has very little that the original Sense 2 lacks. Fitbit isn’t very open about internal upgrades like storage or processor, but music can’t be stored on these wearables making it moot.
You’re better off for the moment sticking with your original sense. With the Pixel WatchFitbit integration is planned for the new Sense 2 in the near future. This could make it a more cost-effective upgrade than the new Sense 2.
Nearly the same
Fitbit Sense 2 isn’t equipped with any new features, other than the addition of a cEDA-sensor. However, you may be interested by Google apps like Wallet or Maps.
It’s great if you have one
Fitbit already plans to remove the original Sense from all of its stores. If you already have one, it’s no reason to upgrade. The original Sense 2 does almost everything that the Sense 2 can.
