FIFA World Cup: Qatar reverses a decision regarding alcohol sales in stadiums just two days before games

Qatar plans to ban the sale alcoholic beer at its World Cup tournament, just days before it begins.

The Associated Press was informed Friday by an anonymous source that beer sales would be restricted at the eight tournament venues.

Over a decade ago, Qatar agreed to FIFA’s most basic commercial conditions for hosting the World Cup. This includes the sale of alcohol.
