FCC suspends voice provider who fails to protect against robocalls

The Federal Communications Commission was quick to get going isolating voice providersThat they don’t do enough for robocall blocking. The regulator has ReducedAfter allegedly failing to comply with requirements regarding protection against scam robocalls, Global UC was reportedly removed from other networks. Since the company has been removed from the Robocall Mitigation Databank, all other carriers (intermediaries included) will stop accepting its traffic.

In October, the FCC stated that it would cut off Global UC as well as six other firms that did not share its anti-robocall strategies despite warnings. All US-based US carriers that use IP-based networks must follow STIR/SHAKEN antispoofing procedures, according to the Commission. It is unknown when other offenders will face sanctions. The FCC stated that it was still reviewing responses by firms who were asked to demonstrate their strategies for limiting the number of robocalls. Cutoffs should be avoided for those who can offer concrete plans.

It is not guaranteed that the crackdown will reduce the number of robocalls – especially those coming from outside the US. Even so, the FCC hopes Global UC will send a message that the FCC isn’t allowing American companies to ignore the rules. They risk losing customers if they fail to take action.
