Maisy loves to relax on the front lawn, soaking in the sun. Maisy, an 11 year old golden retriever, doesn’t just want to enjoy the sun. She’s always willing to take a visit with a very special guy and sometimes even bring a gift.
Maisy picks the best spot on the grass in front her house every morning. Until Richard, a neighbor, comes over with his walkie-talkie. The two had developed a special bond that started during Richard’s daily walks.
The Dodo quoted Maisy’s father, Mark Speelman, as saying, “I’ve been recording [their relationship] on and off for months, but I have only recently started videoing.” She cherishes people.
Speelman stated that Richard and I have been close friends for many years. When I didn’t see him walking because of the weather, I would frequently phone the retirement home to see how he was doing.
In anticipation of Richard’s return, Maisy created her own itinerary.

Speelman hasn’t captured every encounter between Maisy and Richard, but he was able to capture a few noteworthy ones. Richard is always grateful when his faithful dog gives his favourite walker a leaf every now and again.
Speelman said that I love their interactions. “People enjoy watching Richard and Maisy’s videos so much.”
Maisy is able to take comfort in the fact that her best friend will soon be with her no matter what happens. It will be the most memorable time with gifts in the shape of leaves.
