England’s Under-21s have drawn Germany against the current champions in Group C at Euro 2023.
Lee Carsley’s side will also pit their wits against Czech Republic and Israel in next summer’s tournament which will be held in Georgia and Romania.

Since Carsley assumed charge in July 2021 the team has won ten of their thirteen games. They lost only twice.
England will compete in their ninth consecutive European Championships. They secured the top spot in their qualifying category.
They will be buoyed after their friendly win of 3-1 over GermanyBramall Lane, last month
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun – on loan at French side Reims – got on the score sheet, along with ChelseaConor Gallagher, a midfielder Manchester City starlet Cole Palmer.
Carsley’s fledglings also beat Czech Republic twice in their qualifying group.
Balogun, Anthony Gordon and Balogun scored in a 3-1 win in November 2021. Emile Rowe and Jacob Ramsey scored goals in the June 2-1 win.
Commenting on the group, Carsley said: “Getting to this point, we always knew there would be tough teams in all of the pots.
“It’s going to be tough. We are well aware of the difficulties that we have faced with the qualifying campaign.
“We had two difficult games against the Czech Republic (in qualifying).
“We played Germany in the last international window so we have done a lot of preparation on them, we need to make sure we have the same level against Israel.”
England and Germany have a long history in the Euros. In 1982, the Young Lions defeated their rivals to win the competition. This was their first major victory.
Germany had 27 years to wait before they could win back their country. They defeated England 4-0 thanks to Mesut Ozil’s masterclass.

England haven’t progressed from the group stage in each of the two previous tournaments.
As for Germany, they have reached the last three finals – winning twice.
Euro 2023 will kick off on June 21st and run until July 8.
