Elon Musk’s Twitter Identifies Thousands Of Staff Who Will be Laid Off

  • There are thousands of employees at the company who are being let go. 
  • On Wednesday, the list that identifies people who might be eligible for severance was nearly complete. 
  • Musk purchased Twitter last week for $44 Billion. Next is improving profitability.

Twitter employees are moving closer to learning their fates under Elon Musk’s leadership.

According to Insider and two sources familiar with the company’s plans, a list of employees that may be eligible for severance was being finalized Wednesday. The list included approximately 3,700 employees.

Since then, the process of stack ranking, which is a type performance review, has been ongoing Musk officially acquires Twitter last week, as Insider reported. Vice presidents were then assigned the task. Compiling listsEach department’s employees and making a decision about who should stay at the company and which could be let go. Insider reported that Musk’s transition team included Alex Spiro, his personal lawyer, and the final list was sent to them.

Musk’s initial few days have seen little change in Musk’s employees. The leader of the organizationTwo people familiar with company plans stated that layoffs could occur on Friday. Insider spoke to two people who requested anonymity because they were not revealing any private information. Twitter did not respond to a request by Insider for comment on Wednesday

If there were any layoffs, it would be about half of Twitter’s workforce. After the company’s headcount increased to 8,200 in June, it is now at 50%. hundreds leftInsider reported that Musk had purchased it and it was left with 7,500 employees as of September.
