Elon Musk’s Hyperloop test tunnel dismantled at LA City’s request

According to reports, Elon Musk’s Hyperloop test tunnel was removed from its spot in front of SpaceX headquarters in California.

The LA Times reported that Hawthorne Council member Angie Reyes English asked city staff to request the removal of the tube.

English stated that the city had been supportive of SpaceX’s efforts and was very generous. “But we still have other businesses and other items we need to look at and give back to the community.

In 2016, the above-ground prototype tube was installed in Hawthorne — a city in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area — but now the city has moved to uninstall the futuristic venture.

Musk’s civil engineering firm, The Boring Company manages the project, though the prototype tube was left unused for many years on Jack Northrop Avenue. According to the LA Times it was a nuisance to pedestrians and motorists until the city intervened to remove it.

Fox Business reports that representatives of Hyperloop, The Boring Company and The Boring Company did not respond to Insider’s request to confirm. the test tunnel will be replaced by parking spaces.

Musk tweeted April 22nd to confirm that the company is working to create a functioning Hyperloop in order to address traffic problems.

Musk’s Hyperloop system, which he proposed, was intended to transport passengers through the entire country. Low-pressure tubes can be transported in pods at speeds of up to 760 mph.This innovative invention could reduce the commute from Los Angeles, California to San Francisco by 35 minutes.
