Elon Musk Tweets that SpaceX Might Continue to Fund Starlink

Elon Musk, a billionaire, seemed to be able to offer support for Starlink Ukraine via Twitter on Saturday while also venting frustration at the US government.

SpaceX CEO, John SpaceX, tweeted Saturday afternoon “The hell with It”, seemingly giving up on trying to move payment for the system to another source.

Starlink is losing money, despite other companies “getting trillions in taxpayer $,” he complained.

Musk followed up his tweet with a more hopeful message about doing good works.

One user replied, “No good act goes unpunished.”

Musk responded, “Even though so, we should still perform good deeds.”

Musk’s tweets appear to indicate that SpaceX will continue funding satellite internet services used by Ukraine to aid in its war against Russia.Reports from earlier in the weekSpaceX has asked for the Pentagon to pay for it.

It is not clear, however, if the aerospace company will continue to pursue its endeavors. 

CNN obtained documentsIn a September letter to the Pentagon, SpaceX claimed that Musk’s aerospace company could be costing nearly $400 million by funding Starlink.

Musk, Friday morning Tweet, “SpaceX is not asking to recoup past expenses, but also cannot fund the existing system indefinitely *and* send several thousand more terminals that have data usage up to 100X greater than typical households.”

“This is ridiculous,” he said. 

CNN reported that his statement echoed SpaceX’s letter to Pentagon. 

CNN reports that SpaceX’s director, government sales, wrote to the Pentagon saying, “We aren’t in a position further donate terminals Ukraine” 

Starlink satellite constellation which provides internet connection in regions that lack stable telecommunications infrastructure is called Starlink. international broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

SpaceX launched its first rocket shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine. Starlink terminals are available in thousands to Kyivfor civilians and soldiers of Ukraine to have internet access.
