Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge has broken a world record, again.
Kipchoge ran 2:01:09 on Sunday to beat his world record and win at the Berlin Marathon. He managed to shave 30 seconds from his personal best of 2:01.39, which he had set in Berlin in 2018.
“Limits are there to be broken. By you and me together,” Kipchoge TweetAfter the marathon. “I can say that I am beyond happy today that the official world record is once again faster. Thank you to all the runners in the world that inspire me every day to push myself.”
Defending champion Guye Adola and Ethiopia’s Andamlak Belihu kept pace with the 37-year-old Kipchoge until the 10-kilometer point, which they crossed in 28:23.
