GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw, Texas, said that politicians and media figures who are pushing election denial claims knew “it was always lies” and acknowledged the falsehoods behind closed door.
Crenshaw spoke out in an episode about rank-choice voting, which he said with Nick Troiano from Unite America. It was always a lie. It was always a lie. The whole thing was always false. And it was a lie meant to rile people up and, you know, I’ve talked about this ad nauseam — it really made me angry.”
Crenshaw, who is a former Navy SEAL said that there was “not even an process” to reverse the electoral college or challenge election results. This is what Trump-supporting Republicans wanted to do in order to overturn the 2020 election. Crenshaw admitted that he’s had arguments with Republican party members and political figures about members who perpetuate the lies.
“We just, we know, people need their last their like the last hurrah. Like, they just need to feel like it was one last fight. Crenshaw stated that election deniers told him to justify their support for an unfounded claim to power. “And I was like, ‘No, it won’t. This is not what people believe. ”

Crenshaw explained in his podcast, “So we have many people in politics that are just willing to tell things they know aren’t true.” It’s a massive manipulation.
