EA begins rolling out a new PC application to replace Origin

It’s been two years. It stated that it was currently working on It’s currently rolling out the new app for Windows users as part of its Origin PC client. The publisher EA’s latest open beta phase has concluded and the app is now its lightest and most efficient PC client.

EA claims that the app will have a more modern design, which could make navigation easier. It seems the app has improved social features as well, since you’ll be able to connect your EA account to platforms including Steam, Xbox PlayStation — which could come in handy for games with cross-play support, such as and . A custom EA ID will be created for you. This should make it easier for your friends to recognize you.

Publisher says it will soon be inviting Origin users to move to the new app. All your stuff, including save data, games, and friends lists, will be available, as you might expect. For now, the new client will be only available on Windows PC. If you’re a macOS user, you’ll The Origin for Mac app will continue to be available for future use. EA did however note that the company will continue to update this information in the coming months.
