Dwayne Johnson reveals Warner Bros. didn’t want ‘The Witcher’ star Henry Cavill to return as Superman

Black AdamDwayne Johnson, a star of the movie, recently stated that Warner Bros. did not want Henry Cavill returning as DC superhero Superman.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson claimed that he had to fight hard to get Henry Cavill for a cameo in Black Adam.

Dwayne Johnson is 50 years old and celebrating the success of his new film. Black Adam, has revealed that Warner Bros, the studios behind the superhero flick, was not initially keen on Henry Cavill’s return as Superman.

Cavill was a guest star as Superman in Black Adam, which Johnson “fought hard” for.

Johnson posted a video to his official Twitter account on the 24th of November 2022. The actor explained in the video that he wanted to establish Black Adam “as the most powerful, unstoppable force in the DC universe.”

As quoted by Deadline, the actor said, “We have to bring back the most powerful, unstoppable force of all time in any universe.”

“And you guys know who I’m talking about? Of course, that is Superman,” he added, “And that’s Henry Cavill.”

Dwayne Johnson then revealed that the DC studio “inexplicably and inexcusably” did not want to bring back Henry Cavill as Superman but he was not going to take no for an answer, “This has been years in the making regarding bringing Henry Cavill back and years of strategic conversations and we were not going to take no for an answer.”

“There was no way, there’s no viable logical way that you can attempt to build out the DC Universe without the most powerful force and the greatest superhero of all time sitting on the sidelines,” he said, “It’s impossible to do.”

“It all comes back to where Superman you have to have Superman in the mix. So that’s why we fought hard to bring Superman back, Henry Cavill,” he added.

In the meantime, he made an appearance in DC’s Black AdamHenry Cavill, via social media, confirmed his return as Superman in an upcoming Warner Bros. DC movie.
